Silly Stories in Reading

During reading one group was allowed to send an email to Miss Taylor.
They had to write a 'Silly Story' using the words: Debris, Biscuit, Kissing, Marae, and Dog.

These stories were written on the ipad.
They are unedited, unchecked, and written for fun.

By Thomas and Kane

Once upon a time, there was a dog, he found a debris of kissing biscuits in a marae. He ate it but it was not very yummy, then he found more kissing biscuits, he forgot about how yucky the other ones was and ate it.

By Daniel and William

Once Upon a time there lived a mighty dog.He found the debris of the missing cookies on a Marae. He ate every single one in two seconds flat. The dog thought they tasted yucky so he got sick. The next day he was kissing everything in his way. That night he vomited up everything he kissed. Just saying IT smelt horrible.

Can you solve Oliver's maths problem? He rewrote this problem in response to a really difficult problem solving in activity he did in his maths group. Amazing work!

What mythical creature would you most like as a pet?

I asked the class what mythical creature they would most like as a pet.
The choices were: Unicorn, Pegasus, Dragon, Fairy, Griffin and a Phoenix.
The children made strip graphs in their books.
I told the children if they cut the strip graph out and sellotaped it into a circle they could (very carefully) create an easy pie graph this way!
Sol did this amazing piece of work during the maths rotation.
Well done!
