The
Start:
Kaden, Flynn and I waited sick with butterflies in our tummies. The
excruciating fear kept flooding over us, the judges glaring at us reminiscent
of a hawk sighting its prey. Then there was the host standing up at the front,
making us feeling like tiny minors standing in a room full of giants being
trampled on as if we were flies!
Building:
With a 10-minute ‘builder budget’ and minimal supplies to build with
we had to use our time very wisely. The
pressure was on. We were determined to win.
After much collaboration surrounding the layout/design of our build,
Flynn contacted the best designer of them all: Adam Errington.
With his help our building took shape and we progressed with speed and
excitement.
We were on the home straight, with only the styling of our exterior
to go when all of a sudden the host screamed at us ‘5 minutes left’! {so you
can imagine the decorative aspect of our house was very rushed!].
Judging:
Looking at the other contestants we only saw a reflection image of
our own feelings: butterflies in our tummies, goose bumps all over and feeling
apprehensive. Each team desperately wanted to win. Then all of a sudden they
called out our places and despite not winning that one hour was definitely
worth it!
Thanks for sharing this Oliver. I enjoyed reading it in your home learning - I know others will too. You have used some great language features and vocab.
