Me and my Mum have been doing this experiment called the exploding lunch bag. This was very fun, but sadly two bags didn't explode and all the other ones fine, they did explode. If you're wondering what the fair test is, well it's changing the temperature of the water. Also higher the temperature, quicker the bag inflates and explodes.
Which liquid dissolves the most calcium in the chicken bone?
Method:
Soak three chicken bones in 150mls Malt vinegar, 150mls Cider vinegar and water. Leave for three days and take out afterwards. Draw a scale to see which bone bends the most.
Hypothesis:
We think that the water won't bend the chicken bone as well as the Malt and Cider vinegar because the water has no acid at all. Out of the Malt and Cider vinegar we really don't know which one will bend the chicken bone the most.

Conclusion:
Out of the three liquids, malt vinegar bent the chicken bone the most, therefore malt vinegar contains the most acid out of the three liquids.

Fantastic fishy fountain.
What happens when you mix hot water yeast and hydrogen peroxide.You get a fantastic fishy fountain!
The first thing is that a catalyst(yeast)is a substance that increases the rate of a chemicle reaction. Then mix yeast with warm water and then get some hydrogen peroxide and pour it in.
During the experiment the bottle gets warm from the warm water. The experiment is an exothermic reaction .It creates a lot of heat.

When you mix baking soda
and vinegar you will have a reaction. You will see fizz and foam; you can even
trap CO2 in a bottle with a balloon.
Vinegar contains acetic
acid and baking soda contains sodium bicarbonate. They make an
acid base reaction and their reaction makes carbonic acid.
Carbonic acid is an unstable
acid. It quickly breaks down into CO2 and H2O. So you can see and hear it being
created.
If you put baking soda and
vinegar into a bottle it will take lift off. When you put a balloon with a
small hole over the bottle it will full with CO2 gas. The gas will escape from
the balloon and it will lift off like a rocket.
Now you know that carbonic
acid breaks down into H2O and CO2 which creates fizzing gas. If you do it right,
you can also make a rocket. I wonder what would happen if I add more vinegar?
