How does a stapler work? - By William

Without a doubt the stapler is one of the most useful tools we have. If we didn't have staplers then nearly the whole room would be filled with loose documents and paper. Thank goodness we have the stapler!

Now the stapler is made out of seven parts, the head. the base, the anvil, the magazine, spring one, spring two, and the hangar. These parts help the stapler function properly.

The head is pushed down where the magazine dispenses a staple through the document onto the anvil which bends the staple around the paper. Finally, the document falls out onto the ground and it's stapled.

Now there is never going to be loose documents anywhere.

Wow - just wow.

In addition to all the other equipment in classrooms and offices, the smart stapler is a very handy tool. A stapler is a wonderful invention. The main purpose of a stapler is to smartly secure document pages together, so you won't loose them.

Firstly, I'm going to tell you about the important features of s stapler. The bottom of the stapler is called a base. This bit keeps the stapler stable on surfaces. Then there is the head, which sits on the metal magazine. The magazine is the metal part which holds that staples. In addition to this there are two different springs, that have quite important jobs. One spring slides the staples down the magazine, once you have finished stapling, for the next user. The other spring is for once you have pushed down on the head, let go of the pressure, where it springs back up. Never the less, there is also the hangar, the bit at the end which holds everything together. Last, but not least, there is the anvil, which is stuck on the base and bends the staple into place through your document.

If you want to know how to use a stapler, continue reading. First, you push your document under the magazine and make sure the place where you want the stapler to be pushed through is on the anvil. The push down on the head, till you hear a little click. That means that the anvil has bent the staple into place and you can release the pressure. Then gently pull out your document and you are done!

If brief, this is the best way to hold your things together, if you don't want your documents getting lost.
Beautiful.

The amazing phenomenon of the stapler is child's play compared to the TV or the iphone but this does not mean it's inferior. With only six parts this revolutionary piece of technology allows you to cleanly and smoothly secure as many pieces of paper together as you like.

This miracle worker of a machine starts with a base with two soft pads on each end stopping it from moving and scratching the table. Then, on top of the base is an anvil which magically bends the staple into place while also giving an indication of where the staple will land. On top of that is the magazine which holds the staples and two springs which are the heart and soul of the stapler. One pushes the staple to its final destination along the magazine and the other rapidly springs the head back into place.  The head is the part on top of the stapler which you push down to dispense the staples.

If you want to use this mind blowing invention, firstly you need to find some pages which you will place on top of the anvil. Next, slam down on the head and the staple will dispense, just like that. It's as easy as pi (3.14159)

Thank you for reading, now when you friend asks to borrow the stapler you can fire facts at them. Next you should learn about the older brother the staple gun because your friends will be using that because they don't want to hear any more stapler facts.

The Stapler - By Lachie

The main purpose of the stapler is to staple through pages to keep them securely in place or keep important documents together safely and securely.

Even though the stapler is a very simple contraption it is made of six different parts. The parts include the head, which you push down on and that pushes one spring down and pushes a staple through when the second spring kicks in a releases it all.

In addition, the hangar also holds the two springs and the magazine. The magazine holds the staples and pushes them along and  then they are pushed out on to an anvil. The anvil bends the staple into place so it can hold the documents together.

That is how the stapler works. The stapler has a brother which is the staple gun, but that is another story.

See through!

How a Stapler Works - By Jovita

While it may be true that you can use a glue stick or use double sided tape the stapler is the best for keeping pages together. You may not know this, but a stapler is worth one hundred glue sticks.

The stapler is made up of six things, the head, base, hangar, two springs, anvil and magazine. They are all pulled together to make the one and only famous stapler. To make the point clear, you only need a stapler.

Firstly, you should know how a stapler works. In action, the stapler can stick more than six pages but a glue stick can only stick two. Because the stapler is used so much I could not imagine life without it.

How a stapler works - By Daniel

Staplers are a world wide tool that secures paper together just by pushing down the head. However, if you want to know how to use it you need to know all of the parts.

Firstly, the top of the stapler is called the head and below is the base which is connected to the head. Also there is a holder called the magazine that is connected to the head; it holds staples that are used to attach the papers together. Connecting the base and the head is a piece called the hangar. Also inside the stapler are two springs, one pushes the staples down the magazine and the other pulls the head back up after it has been pushed down. On the base is a metal plate called an anvil. The anvil has dents to bend the staple as it comes out.

Surprisingly, the stapler is an everyday use invention and is used a lot by people in offices and schools. Now that you know about the parts of the stapler you can try one yourself!

Staples - the magic behind the stapler

Stapler - By Charlotte

The main purpose of a stapler is that the stapler pushes the staple through the paper. When you push a stapler down it will go up. This is because there are two springs, these are located past the anvil. The stapler anvil is located in front of the springs. Staplers are not like laptops, they do not need charging. Staplers are great.
Why hasn't anyone mentioned the stapler remover?

How a stapler works - By Munro

A stapler is a modern way to to stick things together, a smarter way, a more efficient way. The stapler is a revolutionary thing. We could wait for things to dry or we could use a stapler and in a second your paper is done.

This is how a smarty stapler works. Firstly, you push down on the head to get a staple. Then the magazine dispenses the staple onto your paper and the anvil crushes it to make it stay there. After that, you let go and the spring activates and puts it back back into the original position. At the bottom there is something that connects the head and the base, that is called a hangar.

Overall, the stapler is one of the greatest inventions of all time. Say goodbye to loose sheets FOREVER!

The Stapler - By Emily

There are many words you can use to describe a stapler with - handy, easy to use, or even a teacher's best friend. But have you ever wondered what happens inside a stapler when you staple two pieces of paper together?

As well as being one of the most handy gadgets someone could think of, the stapler has many uses such as school work and smartly stapling documents together.

These are the parts of the stapler - The head (the top), the base (the bottom), staples (the obvious part), the springs (the part that puts all the pressure on the staple), the anvil (the part that bends the staple together), the magazine (the part that holds the staples) and also the hangar.

Firstly, you push down on the head to get the staple as the anvil bends both ends of the staple together. Next, release the pressure of your hand off the stapler and enjoy the never ending journey of the magnificent stapler experience.

How a Stapler Works - By Tony

The stapler is a versatile work thing that holds two things together. It is used in factories, work places and about anywhere two pieces of paper need to be stuck together.

Some important features of the stapler are the head which is the top where you push down, the magazine which is connected to the head and it also holds the metal staples, the base of the stapler is the part that comes in contact with the surface it is placed on and it is connected to the head with a hangar. There are two different springs which are the most important parts of the stapler. One pushes the staples to the end of the magazine where they are pushed out, the second spring rebounds the stapler to its original position after being pushed down. The last part of the stapler is the anvil which curves the staple around the document.

The way to use the stapler is very easy. Firstly, the document is placed under the magazine but on top of the anvil. Then the head is pushed down so staple is pushed down onto the anvil and bent around the document.

The stapler remains an easy to use thing. Despite all the technology in the world the stapler remains a functional and easy to use item.

How a Stapler Works - By Sabine

The main purpose of a stapler is to staple documents or paper together. However, there are five main parts, the head, base, hangar, two springs, an anvil, and of course the magazine.

To use the stapler you place two or more pieces of paper between the base and the magazine in the position of your liking. Then put one hand on the head and one on the paper away from the stapler and push down on the head. When you push down, one of the springs pushes a staple down the magazine and out into the paper. Next, the anvil takes care of the rest and bends it into place in the two pages. Now, you release your hand and automatically the head will spring back to its usual place. Now, you can slide the paper out.

The head is connected to the base by a hangar attached to the magazine. There are also two springs that come from the head to the magazine.

A stapler is not very flash like a phone or an ipod. It also does not need any electricity so you don't need to plug it in or charge it. Despite that, it is safe for kids 5 years and up. This gadget is used worldwide and serves as a reliable working machine. You can use it any time night and day and it can work 24 hours without running out of staples - it's simple, just lift up the head, place some staples in the magazine and push down the head and off you go!

The stapler has a cousin the staple gun but I will tell you about that next time. That is how a stapler works.

The Stapler - By Jordan

The Stapler, a simple mechanism that staples your pages and documents together at your enjoyment.

A stapler is an easy thing to use, it has a head, base, hangar, two springs, an anvil, and a magazine. This contraption can be used any of time day because it doesn't require the technology of batteries, phones and computers.

The stapler is used all over the globe. Mostly everyone has used this contraption in schools, factories, businesses and homes.

As you may know, the stapler is unbelievably cheap. In addition to this, it is very easy to use.

Firstly, in order to work this extraordinary mechanism you get any documents you require to be stapled together and place the documents on the anvil and push down on the head. You can't see inside the contraption, but in the magazine there are staples that are being pushed forwards by a spring. Once you have pushed the head down you simply release the pressure of you hand and 'wam!', an astonishment, you have two amazing pieces of paper stapled together.

As the world is using more and more technology some people think the world would be in crisis without a stapler. What is the future changing? In 5014, the factories all stopped manufacturing staplers and started something out of the blue, a staple gun....
