"Roar? i thingk that is our first tiger run it is comeing strate for us run to the vilage  gards close the gates...the day after the  hunters set up some traps'SNAP` let's see if we caught a tiger  let's get him to the circus so they took the tiger to the circus and  the ring master said,finily you me my tiger lets' do some tricks with him swish wip bang Roar the circus master whipped  the tiger and one of the show girls cried wait stop hitting him then every body crowded around the tiger and saw something nusual on his back why look he has stripes? i am sorry for wiping you go on and be with the other tigers...

So that night tane took away his mane while he slept in the morning cimber looked in the mirror and saw himself with no mane.He knew what had happened and he was ashamed. AH im a female Lion!

Now into the future the Gorillas are living in wealth and peace. And the kids are old healthy but now a type of virus is going around and it was told to have made hair and the resolution was that the kids must have gotten a virus and started to grow hair from the twigs on the tree and it so continued on

another boring day in the zoo. when the cheetah was living in the lions den.You see this cheetah didn't have any spots.  So the cheetah was mistaken for a lioness.


The leader of the lions saw the difference between the cheetah and the other lions, so he scratched the
cheetah. Later a little boy shouted "look Mummy that lion has stripes on it's face", and everyone heard.
So they rushed inside the cage to see, and touch the cheetah.


No they didn't want to pet the cheetah they wanted to poke the cheetah. So they did they poked and
poked until there dirty finger prints turned into markings. So that's how the cheetah got it's spot's.

going to leave. now years after he is in the jungle but he was watching Tv when he watched a program and said to himself

want to be strong and awesome. so he went out and fell into eternal sleep and when he woke up and looked at himself

I have muscles wow yay yippee and then fell into eternal sleep again...

How Rabbits Got Long Ears (and How People Got Mouths.)

One boring casual day a tiny bunny rabbit named Cottentail was in a magicians hat munching away on a delicious orange carrot minding her own buisness - Suddenly Cottentail was pulled out of the hat on the head.

 

As usual it was the magician named Bobby [who was collecting over $100,000 per hour!!!

Bobby had pulled so hard on cottentails head that the magician had streched her head so much that she had now grown two extremly large ears! "I may have hurt Cottentail!"But she loved that she could now hear everything and she definitely heard the audience cheer for Bobby for his mind blowing performance- and that is how the rabbit gained extra long ears.

Now I bet you're wondering what happened next well listen carefully:

"Here," whispered the rabbit as she gave a smiling mouth to Bobby. "Thank you!" screamed Bobby as he was just getting used to having a mouth. The bunny- Cottentail just hopped away silently and has never been seen since. The next day Bobby had the honour of giving the speicies (that Cottentail was) a name. He called them... Hares!

That is how people got mouths and how rabbits got extra long ears!

 LONG , LONG ago far,far away from here in Aisa lived two Tigers named Amber and Bella ( sisters).

"But you knew that all tigers have stripes? Right? Of course they do! But not these tigers! One day Amber and Bella where playing with Micar the Monkey (their friend) . And they really wanted some stripes like Zebra has. So off went the monkey to look for some stripes .She looked in the damp and rain forest' "not here!" she mumbed . so she went again to  the dry and dasty desert; "Not here!" she sighed. Next she went to the village .She couldn't find any there. Then she had an idea! So she found some black paint and took it back to the two tigers and smered it all over them! And that is how the tigers got their stripes!

"They all look nasty!'' said Amy's mother, scrunching up her nose, because of the smell. They were both in the pet shop, trying to choose a puppy. "Look at that cute puppy, mum!" exclaimed Amy. "Ok, whatever. Lets just get out of here! This place stinks!"  complained Amy's mother, now holding her nose as  they  got closer towards the puppy. The puppy was a White Australian Terrier. Amy carried the little puppy to the counter, and her mum bought it. Amy already loved it. But when they got home, Amy's grumpy dad and her annoying brother, Sam saw the little puppy, they didn't look again. "What do you think you bought? That dog is horrible!"demanded the grumpy father. Sam was very dissapointed. "I told you to get a labrador, not a Australian Terrier!" Amy's mum was quite ashamed. "Sorry, but Amy wanted it so badly!" Amy was cuddling the little  puppy, like she would never let go. Amy was only 7, so her bed time was at 7:30. Sam was  10, so he went to bed at 8:00.

When both kids in bed were, Amy's mother and father talked in  low voices."We can't keep the puppy. We have to give it away, because it's to stinky." complained the father in a wisper. "Ok, if we must. Boy, Amy will be mad!" sighed the tired mother, who went along with anything. So when Amy was fast asleep, the Father steaked in Amy's bedroom and picked up the puppy and put it in a box outside the door of their next door naboor's door. He took no notice of the puppies wimper. Then the puppy fell asleep in a very uncomfortable way.In the morning, the puppy woke up with a jump. "Where am I?' thought the little puppy." I'm in a  box.' She peeked through one of the holes. 'But why? Does that that family hate me? I'm sure Amy doesn't! I must get out and find Amy!' So the little puppy pushed over the box with all it's mite. And looked around her. 'Where does Amy live?' The little puppy wondered. She had only been in Amy's house for a night so she didn't know where Amy lived. Then the little puppy started running down the street. She kept running over fields and grass, till she couldn't go any further. Then she flopped down at the side of the foot path, exaughsted, and soon was asleep.

A little while later, along skipped an 11 year old girl called Eve on her way back from school. Her dad was a very clumbsy wizard, called Mr Clever, but he doesn't really match his name. When Eve saw the little abandoned puppy at the side of the road, she stopped in surprise. She then picked up the little thing and while cradiling the little thing, she wispered into it's soft fur. "I think I will call you Amber. I wonder where you came from." Amber tried to awnser, but all that came out was a little sqeak. "Maybe my dad can give you a voice so you can tell me where you came from." said Eve. So she carried the puppy home.

When Eve got home to her little red cottage, she called, "Hi dad, look what I found." Then she dumped her school bag in the courner, and walked through the living room to another section build on for Mr Clever. "Dad, I found this little puppy at the side of the road. Could you give it a voice so she can talk to us?" asked Lucy. "Sure!" said Mr Clever, tipping some magic pawder in tom a glass bottle. He was wearing a magic cape covered in yellow stars, and a green pointy hat. Then he got out his spell book, and went to the page for 'Giving Someone a Voice'. But unfortunately, it said bark! So Mr Clever cast the spell on Amber, but once the spell is cast, it can't be undone. And thats how dogs got their bark. Eve kept Amber and they were happy together.

The Sun Bear’s Shining Chest

Intro I would like to take you to a place with brave bears and scared bears a strange place called the zoo

Sun bear habitat all sun bears always have a yellow chest, right? Well you are wrong! one bear (called bear) had no yellow chest. He told the other bears that a tiger ripped his yellow chest away. Sadly he lied. He was born with out a yellow chest. Other bears called him names like dark bear grizzly bear etc.

The top dog called Sunny he was the strongest the toughest and had all the laaaadies. Bear was scared, depressed and his parents didn't stay with him a lot. When he tried starting a conversation with his parents they always answered  back “ sorry I have to go to the potty”. It was a lonely life.

The bears had no idea that a zoo-ologist had found a chemical that had a solution  for Bear’s chest.

Now back to the habitat it was just a normal day, Bear just woke up to a fuzzy vision to find a orange animal when his his weird vision disappeared he realised it was a TIGER!!!
(Bear’s mind) what I’m I gonna do aahhhhhhhhhh!!!
(Back to the real world)

The tiger was heading to Sunny’s rock. Bear started sprinting and then all his might he punched the tiger back to his habitat. Then Bear’s chest turned yellow and every bear shouted you’re a HERO.(What really happened) the zoo-ologist put a chemical in Bear’s dinner the day before and that is how the bear got his chest

How the elephant got its trunk

 In Africa one thousand years ago, there was an elephant , his favourite meal was noodles, he ate them at breakfast, lunch and dinner, he loved eating them but his mouth couldn't reach it because it wasn't long enough so each day he could only eat a few pieces. The elephant soon became hungry because he didn't eat much each day. One day he accidentally dipped his nose into the sticky noodles and it stuck to his nose, it soon dried and turned into the elephant's trunk, first the elephant was annoyed that he couldn't get the noodles off, then he found lots of ways to use it, like eating the noodles with no problem. The elephant still eats noodles and his trunk is constantly getting longer. That is how the elephant got it's trunk.

Once there was a snake with four legs and he thought he was the king of the jungle. All of the smaller animals bow down to him.They find food for snake. One day mouse couldn't find any food  "oh mighty snake i can't find any food, please spare me" mumbled mouse. "That is ridiculous i am a hungry snake, maybe I could eat you" "NO"  "not me" mouse cried softly "I will" and with that snake ate mouse. meanwhile on the other side of the jungle.........

"WHAT" shrieked wizard "it is true master the balance tipped just as snake ate mouse" exclaimed monkey "we shall talk to that stupid snake"

Snake then saw wizard " why are you here pathetic human" questioned snake

"i am here to take away what you love, your legs" "no not my legs" screamed snake "yes i will" and with that sparks shot out of wizards palms, snake scampered away never to be seen again. But snake lost two things his legs and his mercy so if you ever end up seeing a wild snake look into its eyes it will never show mercy...........

"Ah, nothing, Scott" But then because of their twiness (Not a real word) They trodded off. "Scott, We need to go over CANDY MOUNTAIN to get to Markus the wizard". Let me see, No, It doesn't, You just want to go there!" "Awhhhhhhhhh, why?, oh why?, oh why?, oh why?" "Because we came to get wool and if you shut your mouth, maybe we can go there!" "Really?!" "Yes, Now, Shut up!" So they galloped through Rusty Revine and Metal Mountain and Fruity Field and finally they made it and climbedup the mossy stairs of the tower and asked for some wool "(and some wood!)" "Will you shut up about the wood!" "Fine" "My loyal wizard, may hand over the wool" "Yep, anything else" "Yes, said Luke, some wood please and a mansion (and maybe a sheepsion)"." What's a sheepsion asked Scott, WAIT, Let me guess a mansion for sheep"."Exactly!" so they exploded their  pumpkin patch and rescued all the pumpkins and settled at CANDY MOUNTAIN and they lived for 5oo yrs.

One day the trunkless elephants were having a mud bath. The youngest one said "I wish there was some way of cleaning ourselves! the only way we can clean ourselves is in the river where the crocodiles live"."I know! its been like this for years it's ever so frustrating" exclaimed the oldest one."Im setting out in the jungle asking anyone can help us in any way" added the angry baby elephant "but but but" argued the mother elephant,but it was to late the baby elephant had already set off through the jungle."can you help me" asked he baby elephant politely "with what?" asked the giraffe "a way to wash ourselves we are getting dirtier by the minute.” “sorry”said the giraffe.By now the elephant family were getting very worried.Next the baby elephant tried the parrot family.”Can you me with a way to wash? we are getting very dirty” “well let me think hmmm...

aha i’ve got an idea” said the parrot gleefully 

“please take me to your family” so baby elephant quickly took the parrot to his home “right let me 

show you all a way to wash” added the parrot . “watch this” continued the parrot as he started the marvellous sight of stretching out the skin of 

the elephants trunk.”this is what i call a trunk”

said the parrot proudly, all the elephants gratefully thanked the parrot.And that is how the elephant got its trunk!

On a hot, sunny day in a dry desert, there lived a wild horse. Her name was Bella. Bella was sad because her legs hurt when ever she ran, so she wasn't that fast. She always dreamt of having something that would stop her stubbing her toes, when ever she was trying to run away from predators.

 While she was dreaming about that, something zipped past. A few minutes later a little green lizard  scampered slowly past. One of the claws of the lizard looked like it was bitten by a cat.  Bella trotted over to the lizard and asked" Are you hurt?" The lizard replied sadly "I was just chased by that cat and it wants to get me!" The horse lifted her head down and said "Climb up onto my back.  I will take you to your hole. Quick, before the cat gets you!" So the green lizard climbed up her neck. They took off.

 5 minutes later they reached the lizard's hole. Bella lowered her head down . The little green lizard slithered down. Once the lizard was on the ground he looked up at Bella and said "I am so grateful that you saved me from that cat! To thank you I am going to give you a gift." The lizard slithered into the hole.

10 minutes later, the  little lizard appeared back with four rocks, and they were shaped like shoes but smaller. They were also sparkling.  Bella went to investigate. She put one of her toes on the rock. Suddenly she had two sets of hard rock hooves.

There Was A Family Of Meerkats But They Had Wings. You Would Think Thats A Good Thing But It Wasn't How It Seemed Because Every Day And Night They Had To Flap There Wings So Hard They Couldn't Even Touch The Ground They Were Never Ready To Survive The Eagle. One By One They Lost Lives But Through The Days And Nights They All Gave Up They Stood In Front Of The Eagles They Closed There Eye's But They Lived But Fell A Very Big Distance Down Onto The Ground Knocked Out. They Woke Up They Felt Like They Could Run 100 Miles None Stop They Felt Great The Meerkats Clan Leader Said ,WERE FREE, He Was Very Desperate But They Were Hopeless Without Anything Good They Can Do But The Next Night Later One Was Still Up Tryed Diging And He Couldn't Belive How Fast He Could Dig He Woke Everyone Up And Expapled It To Them. They Were Amazed How Good They Could Dig So They Decided They Would Live Under Ground When The Eagles Came.

"well it's time" Said seal. so he ate up the whole pack! he could bark like a maniac. he destroyed  the whole dog pack.after that he went up the fall,down the hill, up the river home."i have to do something"said seal. he told wombat. wombat punched seal and the dog pack came out and still had a bark.

Deep in the Amazon billions of years ago in a year called A.D there stood a wealthy king in charge of the world BUT he was a Gorilla.BUT that was all going to change . The Gorilla king was never Afraid of anything but he felt a bit peculiar. One night an ambush was made. JAGUARS!!! but the king had no limits he attacked the commander of the vicious raid. suddenly the Gorilla kings head was gone!. The Jaguars stole the head to give to their king. THE FATE OF THE GORILLA KING HAD BEGUN!!!. Hopeless but weak with bloodcurdling scars all over the Gorilla. There were to many so he had to deal with it. Over time his Atrocious cuts turned black and hair started growing out it was disgusting. Years later the Gorilla king had overcome Jaguars,Ambushes and much more. But now he wants revenge. From years ago but now shall continue. A couple more years later now the Gorilla king is different now peace and all he is now called GOD GRILLA . He now has a heart rippling plan to take back his win and his HEAD!!!. All of a sudden he ambushes the Jaguar king (so called Jaguar o king) a sign of relief he has won the battle. The Jaguar king has lost the fight. The Gorilla king's guards take the Jaguar king to the execution room. And fulfilled the Jaguars wish a headless battle. The Jaguars head was taken by the Gorilla king but the same thing happened there were so many scars they turned black and hair grew out of the scars on his old gross historic face. But when he put his head on a new friend was awaiting him. A baby turtle he cared for the turtle for years but after tons of years the Gorilla king died. For nights and nights the turtle cried. He prayed over and over but nothing happened. Except a new revolution not Gorilla king's. But something new called.

how kangaroos got their pouch

On a bright day jamie the kangaroo went on a stroll. She bounced around ever so cheerfully. Then a cat zipped in front of jamie and tried to hide behind her. "what are you trying to do ?" said jamie " i am being chased by a mouse " said the cat.  Suddenly a small mouse came . He was wearing a small hat and a very cute top . Jamie punched the mouse and threw him far far away . "thank you !" Oh thank you how can i repay you " said the cat "no i am fine" said jamie " no i will give you a pouch ""thank very very very much"said jamie not very surprised. Years later the kangaroo kind use the pouch for their young joeys.   

SPOTTING A PANDA

Not a long time ago.In a galaxy not very far away.A panda went to Disneyland on the 19th of October."First stop the costume shop." sang the happy Panda.Cha ching the door bell went."Hello valued customer." said the owner."Wow! A shop owner being nice and not haggling you to buy stuff" thought the befuddled panda."What shall I wear for Halloween?" the panda said "I recommend Claws the Killer Crab or Nathan the Ninja."answered the shop owner.The albino panda examined the costumes."I think I'll take the ninja outfit"said the panda" thank you come again"the shop owner cheerfully said.

The panda struted out of the costume shop.But he wouldn't be happy for too long.Because all of a sudden 3 thugs attacked the poor unsuspecting panda."Oh oh!"said one of the thugs"we've attacked a polar bear"I'm not a polar bear,I'm a panda""Ok boys keep on beating."The panda rushed to a nearby telephone box and got changed into his ninja suit.He hopped out of the telephone box and beat the thugs up.The panda got his spots by going to Disneyland and getting beaten up half way through getting changed into a ninja costume.

8.00am – Make the postponement call and inform bus company. Message will be sent out on school sports line and school links if postponed or cancelled.

8.15am – Andrea W, Anne-Marie and Denise will leave for Karori Park to set out the courses.

9.45am –Morning tea – 20mins (years 3-8 only)

10.10am – Years 7/8 start to leave KNS on buses

10.45am – Races begin for years 7 and 8

11.25am – Years 3/4 start to leave KNS on buses

12.00pm – Races begin for years 3 and 4

12.25pm – Years 5/6 start to leave KNS on buses

How the Dove lost its colour and the Owl was able to see at night

Once there was a Dove and an Owl who were friends. The Dove and the Owl lived in a town. The Dove was blue and red and loved white.  The Owl wanted to be able to gather food at night but he couldn't see in the dark.

One day, before Owl and Dove were friends they met on a tree branch and started talking about things they liked. The Dove liked the Owl and said "Can we be friends?" The Owl said "Yes" as they went to watch over the town at dark. The Dove said to the Owl "I wish I was white." Owl said I can make you white if you give me a gift, the ability to see in the dark." The Dove was fine with that so he gave the Owl the ability to see in the dark and the Dove became white. "YIPPEE!" said the Dove who was excited.

The Owl was very grateful to the Dove because now he could attack prey at night while the prey is sleeping, but the Dove couldn't make the Owl see at Day and night so the Owl couldn't see in the day.

That is how the Dove lost its colour and the Owl had the ability to see at night.

 Many hundred years ago in the plains of Africa a cheetah and her golden black spotted cubs were playing happily. One day when the cheetah mum went out hunting 2 poachers, Bob and Bobby saw the cubs playing happily."Those cubs are worth a fortune" exclaimed Bob."Get the nets" whispered Bobby. The poachers thew the nets over the cheetah cubs and they were trapped! The cubs barked for there mum but she was to far away to hear them. The poachers left with the cubs.

A few minutes later the cheetah mum came back from hunting when she realised her cubs weren't there."Oh where are my cubs!" Sobbed the cheetah. For 4 days she looked for her cubs, but on day 5 she realised they were gone. She sobbed all day in the blazing sun and the sun dried her tears into the tears of today.
